Sneak Post: Kobe VII (Gold Medal)

On the eve of the Kobe VIII, I thought I should post a pair of Kobe VII's that are getting slept on like crazy. I was a big fan of the VII's and the Gold Medals were among my favorite colorways.

Is There A New King of Clutch in The NBA?

So basically the NBA GMs get an annual survey where they answer certain questions and one of them happened to be infamous "Who would you prefer taking the final shot at the end of the game?" and this time around Kevin Durant got the better share of votes:

Kevin Durant - 46.7%
Kobe Bryant - 40.0%
Carmelo Anthony - 6.7%

This is all statistical it seems, based on the fact that Kobe shot 33% from the field in the last 3 mins of game when his team is ahead or behind by 3 last year. KD shot a 43% in the same situation.

So it's hard to argue with stats, but the fact that most of Kobe's shots come harder because of the lack of another legitimate threat to make those shots so it will always be all eyes on Kobe. Unlike Durant who has Westbrook & Harden to space the floor and limit the double team.

I also feel Melo should've garnered more votes because he is as clutch as anyone, this man as put his team on his back on multiple occasions last year and beyond. Should I remind you of the Easter game last year?

But what do you guys think? Who do you want taking your last shot?

Great Moments in (pause) History: Chris Paul is funny [Video]

Dont worry CP, you're ahead now but Kobe's behind you waiting to strike

And oh yeah, forgot to say that he's good at basketball too, really good. But aside from that he made a couple funnies at the end of a miserable game for Laker fans. Trevor Ariza qualified this for a GMPH but the second comment was equally funny.

Kobe calls the Ref a "F*cking Fag"

aww man I dont mean to seem insensitive but I really dont care that he said this ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I really dont because lets not sit here and act like this word isnt said on a regular basis everyday by much of the population just as I wouldnt care if Kyle Korver said "F*cking Nigger" to a ref even though I know it would be taken differently. Its part of people's vernacular and maybe its because things like this dont really get to me. I understand the ruckus around it and Im not homophobic, just can careless about this bring on the NBA Playoffs

As Long As you Have Determination.....

Now thats Determination

Check out this blog post about the one and ony KB24, but you can learn from it
In 1994, a coach in Philadelphia stated every day when he went to work, at 5 am there would be the sound of squeaking sneakers and basketball dribbling in the gym. That player that was always in there before the school even opened was Kobe Bryant. In 1996, while making his decision to skip college and bring his game to the professional level, Kobe Bryant was heavily scrutinized for being too immature for the NBA. The media, his peers, and the rest of the league questioned his heart and ability to make plays, and labelled him a selfish, arrogant waste of money after he shot 2 airballs as a rookie in a utah playoff game. A year later, a league wide media report came out and said that Kobe Bryant had small hands, no muscle, weak frame, weak jumpshot, defensive lapses, offense first midset and selfish style of play. They said that Kobe will not be able to become a winner in this league because he lacks the “it” factor. Through all media scrutiny, one aspect remained constant. Kobe Bryant was always the first person in the gym and the last one to leave. After winning 3 titles with the Lakers, he was labelled as the secondary option and his contributions to said titles were discounted. People said that those titles were won by shaq and Kobe couldnt do it on his own. After several fueds with his teammates, coaches and a colorado incident, Kobe was labelled “uncoachable, selfish, immature, arrogrant, and a criminal.” Through all these times, one thing remained a constant, Kobe Bryant was the first person in the gym and the last to leave. After single-handedly carrying the Lakers in the playoffs and being undoubtedly the most valuable player in the league, the media and the league refused to give him the MVP award. A few years later, Kobe Bryant again made 3 appearances in the finals, winning 2 of them and has been currently labelled “old and slow.” Through all this negativity, there is still one thing that remains a constant, Kobe Bryant is still the first person to be in the gym and the last guy to leave. This is RyderzDelight, reminding you that DETERMINATION counts!
Last night at Staples Center, sitting in floor seats next to each other, watching Kobe perform, two other determined men who practiced all the time: Roger Federer and Pete Sampras. The greats watch the great.

Missed FTs = Towel in the Face

LO missed TWO key Free Throws to seal the game yesterday against the Thunder and I dont have to tell you Kobe didnt like that lol. Its actually kinda effed up, but KB's a competitor and LO knows that and he knows that he has to make those because this was a playoff-type game and if he does this in April he have more than a towel flying at his face.

INTERVIEW: Kobe Bryant - On Christmas Game w/ Heat, MJ, Retirement

Christmas Day is approaching fast and besides the obvious that means The Lakers and Heat will have their long-awaited duel for supremacy so to speak. But according to Kobe this game is no big deal. I also agree because even though its a big game, its a regular season game and carries little worth. Like Bryant says "We gotten rocked on Christmas and have won a championship and we've done the rocking and still won a championship" so the result means little in the big picture. But!! It would be soooo sweet to win. Because for the meantime they get the bragging rights.

Especially from my perspective, as a Laker fan who lives in Miami, I will have to hear it for some time. But last year the Cavs handed it to us TWICE but we were left laughing as they cried......TWICE. And dont be fooled by Kobe's downplaying of the game [ie Celtics Series] he cares, but isnt gonna let that distract him or his team.

And the MJ thing, thats gonna be wat it is forever. People wil always put him on this unreachable perch no matter how many titles Kobe wins or wat he does. I for one think Kobe is just as good as MJ and has some better qualities, but all in all I gotta choose Jordan just because, and this coming from a DIE-HARD Kobe fan, watever KB does its just a remix of wat Jordan did. The only way Kobe will surpass MJ is to win another championship or two in historic fashion and retire afterwards and then DIE. Hopefully he doesnt die, but death multiplies everything that was done while living and I think it will give him the slight edge because since everyone hates Kobe no one will give him credit while he's alive.

And on retirement, I dont think Kobe will be one of those 'Brett Favre type guys' who never wanna let go. I think he'll retire before he takes a dip in his skills. When his contract goes up Im thinkn that'll be the last of Kobe Bryant the Player, but lets not think about that. For now lets go get this 3peat.

LeBron's Mental Notes.....

Known as the tweet heard round' the world. To me it seems as if LeBron is getting the Obama treatment, which is nothing you can do or say will be right in people's eyes. But I see it as this, he chooses now to be taking mental notes when the great ones have been doing it since birth, I mean he wouldn't be saying this if he didn't have Finals MVP and a consensus All-Star to back him up. I just saying where was all this "killer-instinct" when he really needed it. Most say this is the Most MJ-like thing he's done in his entire career and I agree because it is said that Jordan used to make up things to get his self hyped up for the game. But this Summer turned LeBron from perhaps the most-liked NBA player to probably the most hated in a matter of months.

Back2Back Champions of the World!

Kobe Bryant

We're champions again baby and going for another 3-peat. But we'll enjoy this one for awhile and parade is on Monday. Kobe was Finals MVP averaging 28 pts , 8 rebs, and 4 asts. He has 5 now so Shaq tell him how his ass taste. In my eyes he's the Greatest Laker of All-Time and top 5 period. We played as a team finally and trusted everyone. The whole team deserved their rings Fish won game 3 and continued to hit BIG shots, Ron scored BIG in Games 6 & 7 and locked down Pierce when it counted, Sasha banked in 2 clutch FTs, Bynum played through a torn meniscus, Odom finally showed up, Shannon and Farmar gave us great plays and energy off the bench, Pau was a complete animal imposing his will on the Celtic Big Men and obliterating all the soft labels, and what else can I say about Kobe Bryant the MVP the G.L.O.A.T and incredible unstoppable force of greatness that never gave up or lost faith in himself, his teammates or this franchise. Not to forget Phil Jackson the Zen Master and man behind it all, without him we would have fell apart so I Congratulate him and I'm hoping to see him courtside for at least 1 more year. All in all, I just want to say ThankYou Los Angeles Lakers of 2009-2010 for a great season, you guys deserve every bit of praise that comes your way. As always Keep it Taylor'd and Go World Champion Lakers :)

Kobe Bryant = G.O.A.T.

The one thing that makes Kobe most great is he wasn't blessed with the god given athletic abilities of other NBA players we've come to know. He' not the biggest, not the fastest or quickest, not the tallest, and doesn't have Jordan-like leaping ability. But he still overcame all that along with average NBA size, decent hops, and a decent jumper by being the hardest worker the NBA has ever seen. Now he's one of the best ever with the BEST mid-range jump shot ever taken on planet Earth. I just posted this to help you see from my P.O.V or at least to really appreciate how great this guy has really been. You can call him Amazing, you can call him great or you can all him Kobe Bryant, Greatest Of All Time.

PS. Thanks to KB42PAH for making this amazing video and he also has a ton more
